About Melusine Soap

Greetings and welcome to Melusine Soap, a new cottage-based business, wh0 specialise in hand crafted, SLS-free, glycerine soaps.

Situated in rural Somerset, England, we find inspiration from the surrounding countryside, nature, folklore and even local produce such as honey, when designing new soaps.

Our aim is to manufacture affordable but luxurious soap, which is also gentle enough to be used in the bath or shower by people with the most sensitive of skin.

We only use top quality vegetable glycerine bases and other lovely additions such as Shea butter and apricot kernel oil (see the Ingredients Info page for more details). We prefer to use fragrance oils because we love the wide range of choices available and we want to pass on this scope to the customer. All ingredients we use are sourced within the UK, are vegetarian friendly and have not been tested on animals.

At the moment our soaps are divided into 3 main categories:

Water Sprite – Luxury feminine soaps for pampering and indulging the senses

Neptune – Luxury masculine soaps and shaving soaps

Little Faeries – Novelty and fun children’s soaps

We also make soaps for celebrations such as Christmas, birthdays and Halloween and we're also happy to make bespoke custom orders for customers, e.g wedding favours, etc.

All new soaps are tested by myself prior to selling and we are fully safety certified to comply with EU regulations. We are also a proud member of The Guild of Craft Soap and Toiletry Makers:

'The Guild has two very specific aims:

(1) to raise awareness of the legislative standards that are in place that apply to craft soap and toiletry makers

(2) To register as members of the Guild crafters who work in compliance with this legislation and who hold relevant public liability insurance

It is not generally known that in order to legally sell a crafted soap or toiletry product to the public that it must meet legislative guidelines. The reason for this is public safety.'
